WV Online Sports Betting: UFC Fight Night 176 Betting Odds and Preview

Posted on May 28, 2020

Tyron Woodley hasn’t stepped foot in The Octagon since he lost his welterweight title last year. Woodley will break that streak on Saturday when he faces Gilbert Burns in the main event of UFC Fight Night 176.

West Virginia online sports betting fans expect Woodley to regain his form quickly. The card has a lot of other opportunities for bettors in WV as well.

The full schedule for UFC Fight Night 176

Saturday night has five events for the main card and six preliminary events. The main card action is set for 9 p.m. ET on ESPN and ESPN+.

As of Thursday afternoon, the following WV sports betting apps had two-way moneyline wagers on Burns vs. Woodley. At that time, the odds were:

Before Woodley lost the welterweight title to Kamaru Usman nearly a year ago, Woodley held it for two and a half years. Defeating Burns would go a long way toward reestablishing himself as the elite talent in the division.

Burns comes in on a hot streak, having won his last five consecutive bouts. While Woodley was taking time off last year, Burns was ramming through the competition set before him, dispatching opponents like Aleksei Kunchenko and Gunnar Nelson.

The consensus method of victory right now is Woodley prevailing by knockout or technical knockout. Books have the longest odds on Woodley winning by submission.

In the other main card events, Hannah Cifers is the biggest underdog to Mackenzie Dern. This strawweight division bout features two fighters both coming off recent losses.

Dern is such a heavy favorite, however, because of the run, she was on until she effectively took “maternity leave” last June. Prior to that pause to start her family, she ran her record to 7-0.

All three of WV’s online sportsbooks offer a bevy of props on the entire main card and preliminary schedule, such as wagers on individual rounds.

Accordingly, WV’s sports betting apps offer some promotions for Saturday night. Two of those promos focus specifically on the Burns vs. Woodley bout.

UFC betting promos at WV online sportsbooks

As of Thursday afternoon, here are the promotions for UFC Fight Night 176 at WV’s three online sportsbooks. As always, check with your favorite app’s terms and conditions to ensure your bets are eligible.

DraftKings Sportsbook: UFC Fight Night Insurance is eligible for Burns vs. Woodley or any of Saturday’s other main card events you choose. Just place a single pre-fight moneyline bet and if your fighter loses by DQ, KO, submission, or TKO, DraftKings will refund your bet as a free bet up to $25.

FanDuel Sportsbook: Place a wager of any amount up to $50 on Burns vs. Gilbert to end via KO or TKO. FanDuel will boost your odds to +180 from +130.

BetMGM Sportsbook: wager any amount on Woodley to defeat Burns by knockout or technical knockout and BetMGM will boost your odds to +250. The standard line for that wager right now is +165.

If Gilbert “burns” Woodley for having the courage to step back into The Octagon against him Saturday, some WV bettors will come out the victors. WV sportsbooks expect Woodley to put out his fire.
