It’s another incredibly busy weekend coming up at West Virginia sportsbooks. Bettors in the Mountain State have their choice of betting market, with football available all Saturday and Sunday.
WVU football is back on the field this week. It matches up with Oklahoma State in its first tilt in the Big 12 Conference.
Both teams enter with a 1-0 record after taking down their only non-conference opponent of the season.
The Mountaineers defeated Eastern Kentucky two weeks ago with an impressive score of 56-10.
The Jarret Doege-led offense rolled all afternoon as WVU was able to throw and run with ease. OSU should pose more of a threat on Saturday.
The Cowboys won their first game this past weekend, although their performance wasn’t too noteworthy. They only took down Tulsa by a score of 16-7.
Still, Oklahoma State is ranked 15th overall and features one of the best rushing attacks in the nation.
While it depends on which online sports betting app you’re using, the Mountaineers are receiving around seven points in this game.
There is plenty of other college football betting to take advantage of, as well. This weekend marks the beginning of conference play in the Big 12 and the return of the SEC.
Then on Sunday, the NFL includes another full slate of games for Week 3. The action has been great thus far, and the league hasn’t struggled with many issues related to COVID-19.
If football isn’t your favorite, there are several other great alternatives. Both the NBA playoffs and Stanley Cup Final are still going on, with only a few games remaining in each sport.
Let’s examine some of the best games in professional and college football this weekend, along with the odds for the NBA and NHL.
WVU football betting
With the Mountaineers back on the board at sportsbooks this Saturday, there’s little question of what the most-wagered college game will be.
It seemed like WVU might have some trouble with Oklahoma State; however, the Cowboys’ mediocre showing against Tulsa has those in Morgantown excited.
It was clear that OSU’s offense was nowhere near clicking and scoring like it’s accustomed to. If WVU can limit the Cowboys’ rushing attack again, then Oklahoma State could run into more trouble.
At the moment, DraftKings Sportsbook lists OSU as 7.5-point favorites, with a moneyline of -275.
That means WV residents can take their team getting +7.5 in the point spread, or to win the game outright at +215.
The game’s total is set at 51.5 points.
WVU will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET from Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Another quality matchup on Saturday involves two ranked teams within the SEC. The game is the first of the season for both sides.
While Kentucky is ranked No. 23 before the year begins, it must travel to No. 8 Auburn for a noon start this weekend.
This should be a great early-season test for the Tigers, who have their eye on winning the SEC West this year. Sportsbooks see it as a close contest, too.
According to DraftKings, Auburn is laying -7.5, with a moneyline of -315. On the other side, you can take Kentucky getting the points, or with its moneyline odds of +245.
The online sportsbook also provides a wide variety of game and team props.
Instead of taking the game total overall, bettors can put money down on individual team totals. Kentucky’s total is set at 20.5 points, whereas Auburn’s is 28.5.
You can also wager on which team scores first, with Auburn’s odds at -175, and Kentucky at +125.
NFL Week 3 odds
Once college football concludes on Saturday night, you can make the switch over to the NFL all Sunday. Since it’s still so early in the season, there aren’t any teams on their bye weeks, yet.
This means that there are 16 more games this weekend. Two regional teams get together in the game between Washington and Cleveland. The Browns got in the win column last Thursday against the Bengals, while Washington fell to 1-1 with a loss to Arizona.
FanDuel Sportsbook likes Cleveland to get its second consecutive win. It has the Browns as the favorite giving -7.5 points. Their moneyline is listed at -340 right now.
If you think Dwayne Haskins can lead Washington to a victory, you can take the point spread of +7.5, or its moneyline of +275.
The online sports betting app doesn’t see that many points in this affair. It has the game total posted at 45 a few days before the game.
A closer matchup might be between the Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks in the late-afternoon session.
Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is off to a blazing start, throwing for nine touchdowns through the first two weeks.
Dallas’ Dak Prescott looks good, too. He threw for over 400 yards and rushed for three scores against the Falcons a week ago.
FanDuel currently shows Seattle laying -5 points, with a moneyline of -215. Bettors can take the Cowboys receiving +5, or their moneyline with odds of +180.
Unlike the other game, this one should include some more scoring. The total sits at 55.5 points.
With FanDuel, you’re able to place a parlay with multiple selections from the same game. It has the following preloaded parlays for you to choose from involving the point spread and total in Dallas vs. Seattle:
- Cowboys +5.5 / Over 55.5 +240
- Seahawks -5.5 / Over 55.5 +260
- Cowboys +5.5 / Under 55.5 +280
- Seahawks -5.5 / Under 55.5 +280
Other NFL lines
Cincinnati Bengals +5.5 (Moneyline: +184) vs. Philadelphia Eagles -5.5 (Moneyline: -220)
Houston Texans +4 (Moneyline: +168) vs. Pittsburgh Steelers -4 (Moneyline: -200)
Kansas City Chiefs +3.5 (Moneyline: +156) vs. Baltimore Ravens -3.5 (Moneyline: -186)
